2025 Positions:
- Operations Manager
- Job Description: Manage employees and all aspects of day to day activities.
- Trapper
- Job Description: Will travel to designated sites to setup CDC Light Traps in the Hotchkiss & Paonia areas 2 nights per week and retrieve them the following morning. The traps will usually have samples that need to be returned to the office for RAMP testing (performed by the Lab Tech).
- Hours: Usually 3 hours per week (2 days/week)
- Lab Tech
- Job Description: Will pull that days trap samples and separate the various breeds of mosquitos and count each species. Then the Lab Tech will perform the task of RAMP Testing, which is the process in which we determine if the culex mosquito samples carry the West Nile Virus.
- Hours: Usually a 2-5 hours per day (2 days/week)
- Site Evaluation & Treastment Techs
- Job Description: Will travel to numerous District “trouble area” along with properties of residents who are within our District, to perform a Site Evaluation, to identify potential mosquito breeding areas. Treatment is performed with a variety of products (liquid, granule, pouch, and briquets). These products are applied by hand, gas operated backpack dispensers and an ATV mounted Mister Unit. All outdoor tasks are performed based on acceptable weather conditions.
- Hours: Usually 6-8 hours per day (4 days/week)
- Foggers
- Job Description: Will travel to numerous typical areas along with added trouble areas, identified via the trapping data performed earlier. Fogging is performed via our truck with fogging equipment attached in the backs. The fogging schedule for dispensing product is during the evening hours, usually beginning at 6:00-6:30pm ending at 9:30-10:00 pm, all depending upon the weather conditions.
- Hours: Usually 3-1/2 hours per night (2 nights/week)
- All New Hires will be trained for their job position. Drivers will also be trained how to operate our trucks and equipment properly in order to dispense products in a responsible, safe and efficient manner. There will be a 30 day training-grace period.
